Lee Davies became the District Secretary in October 1999, following 12 years in roles of increasing seniority in Further Education.

His is a practical background, in the construction industry, which evolved into education when he became a lecturer in plumbing in 1988. He found himself equally adept in the educational world and secured a number of promotions, culminating in senior responsibility for developing the adult curriculum and 'inclusive' learning across Highbury College (Portsmouth)'s programmes.

He is passionate about the centrality of the learner in all aspects of an educational provider's work, not simply just in the leaning process, and leads nationally on Inclusive Learning for the WEA.
