I have been
Dean Ireland Professor of the Exegesis of Holy Scripture
at Oxford University since 1991. I was for ten years
a member of he Board of Christian Aid and chair
of its Latin Americana and Caribbean Committee.
I have maintained close contacts with Brazil and
have been much influenced by liberation theology.
I have studied and written about the radical traditions
in Christianity and , with Andrew Bradstock (as
you know!) edited a collection of texts relating
to these traditions (Radical Christian Writings:
A Reader Oxford: Blackwell 2002).
I am married
to Catherine who works in the University Counselling
Service in Oxford. We have four adult children."
