Procession around Burford with the Woodcraft Folk and Cry Havoc Morris Dancers ending in a wreathlaying ceremony to honour the three Leveller soldiers shot in Burford churchyard in 1649 for their beliefs in democracy and human rights.

 

 

 

   
 

This was the 29th year that the annual Levellers Day commemoration has taken place in the Cotswold town of Burford.

This year it’s also one hundred years since the Workers Educational Association was founded, and to celebrate this centenary, education was the theme chosen for Levellers Day 2003.
